Pet Support and Bereavement

A pet is often at the centre of a loving family and can bring joy in so many ways. However, things can go wrong and critical illness or the loss of a pet can be heart breaking for the whole family.  Sometimes, awful decisions have to be made and we are left not knowing which way to turn.  Children often struggle with pet bereavement too and that can be hard for a parent to cope with. Anna offers counselling and support to anyone directly affected by the loss of a pet and would like to share her story with you........Meet Pip!

Pip was born with a hole in his heart, as a small puppy there was huge concern about him during the wait until he was big enough to undergo life saving surgery. This was one of the hardest times for the Kennedy family and the anxiety and worry was indescribable.  Throughout the days and weeks preceding his  surgery, the family didn't cope too well and found it difficult to manage their daily lives without worrying if Pip would make it through his surgery.   Happily, Pip had a successful procedure and has an excellent prognosis.

Following Pip's surgery, Otto joined the Kennedy clan and keeps Pip company in their mum's counselling room!

Anna understands just how hard it can be to face the loss of a loved pet and therefore offers short or long term sessions to help clients throughout this difficult time.
